It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Willie Ruth Sweat of Maxton, North Carolina, who passed away on April 7, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Letha Mae Dial; her husband Ardell Sweat; and her siblings, Harold Dial and Betty Hunt. She is survived by: her children, Glen Sweat (Tina) of Maxton, Sandra Jacobs (Delton) of Maxton, Garrett Sweat (Beverly) of Maxton, Judy Revels (Mardie) of Maxton, Jeffery Sweat (Janet) of Maxton and Sharon Smith (Chris) of Shannon; her siblings, Effie Quick, Patsy Brayboy of Laurinburg, Faye Jones of Pembroke and Tommy Dial of Gibson; her granddaughter Michelle Scott (Ryan) of Maxton; and also, Duncan McMillian and Tammy Jones. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren.
