It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ronnie Shafer of McLeansville, North Carolina, born in Denton, Texas, who passed away on June 16, 2020, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, C. B. Shafer and Daisy Shafer; his children, Kathy Gerringer Barrier and Calvin Gerringer (Sherrie); and his granddaughter Courtney Barrier Rhew.

He is survived by : his wife Gladys Caviness Shafer; his children, Steve, Scott Shafer, Terri Gerringer Staley (Tony), Lorrie Gerringer Hancock (Bobby) and Donna Gerringer Cauthren (Ricky); and his siblings, Ardean Shafer, William M. Shafer and Ann Pearson. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
