It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Selma Lance Cairnes (Mills River, North Carolina), born in Henderson, North Carolina, who passed away on January 14, 2019, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Albert Vance Cairnes; her children, Jerry Cairnes and Dale Diane Morrison; her sister Edith Bryson; and her half-sister Joyce Neal.
She is survived by: her son Steve Cairnes (Kathy) of Flat Rock; her daughter-in-law Ruthel Cairnes of Horse Shoe; her half-brother Ronald Lance (Theresa, Bobby Lance); and her grandchildren, Dewayne, Greg, Marilyn, Sabrina and Kimberly. She is also survived by eight great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; as well as many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Children's Ministry, 56 Mt. Gilead Church Road, Mills River, NC 28759.
