It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Karen Spurling Steele (Mint Hill, North Carolina), born in Cleveland, North Carolina, who passed away on October 20, 2018, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, W. B. Spurling and Myrtle Spurling; and her son Jeffery Steele. She is survived by: her husband Jimmie Steele; her daughter Kelly Steele Dreher (Carl); her sister Shirley Edwards (Newell); her nephews, Tracy Edwards and Troy Edwards; and her grandchildren, Tyler Jenkins (Kyla), Braden Asbury (Sarah), Jonathan Dreher and Alicia Dreher.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to MemoryCare, 81 Elmwood Way, Waynesville, NC 28786.
