She was predeceased by: her husband Howard Levan Sloan; her brothers, Hubert C. McGuirt (Mary Lou) and Donald E. McGuirt (Melissa); her brother-in-law Buck Sloan (Jeanette); and her siblings' children, Mitchell McGuirt, Chad Buchanan, Anita Purser and Lynn Phillips.
She is survived by: her children, Bobby Sloan and Sheri Sloan Smoak (Charles); her granddaughter Sarah Smoak; her siblings, Carole Starnes (Dickie), Judy Buchanan (Ronald) and Kenneth McGuirt; and her sister-in-law Ruth Sloan.
The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the Church of God Children's Home in Kannapolis, NC and to the American Cancer Society.
