He was predeceased by: his parent Robert Oren Helms Sr.. He is survived by: his parent Bessie Aycoth Helms; his wife Alva Price Helms; his children, Danny Helms (DeAnn), Fran Moore (Rick) of Monroe and Tina Johnson (Robb) of Monroe; his siblings, Robert Jr of Monroe, Coleen Norton of Banner Elk and Brenda Wilhelm of Monroe; and also Helms Jr of Monroe. He is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, 2301 North Rocky River Rd, Monroe, NC 28110.
