She was predeceased by: her parents, David Albert Hicks and Luna Harriet Lee Hicks; and her siblings, Verdie Kathryn Hicks Anderson, Daymon Hicks, Derrel Hicks, Iline Hicks Shepard, Pauline Hicks Newsome and Annie Ruth Hicks Carroll.
She is survived by: her son David "Blake" Barnes (Cress); her grandsons, Simon, Owen and Henry Barnes; and her son John R. "Jack" Barnes (Jill) of Decatur, GA..
