He was predeceased by: his sister Sandra "Sandi" Sims Whitley. He is survived by: his wife Elaine of Monroe; his daughters, Daphne Sims (Paige) of Mineral Springs, Mitzi Simpson (Loren) of Monroe, Lana Funderburk (Bobby) of Monroe, DeAnne Coan (Mark) of Waxhaw, Tiffani Hignight (Ken) of Morehead City and Angela Deason (Tony) of Beaufort, SC; and his siblings, Larry Sims, Rick Sims (Belinda) of Monroe, Sherry Springs of Little River, SC and Jerrie Lynn Winchester (Jerry) of Monroe. He is also survived by his 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
