He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Magdaline Smith and Reece Hodgin of Ramseur, NC.; and his daughter Cindy Keenun. He is survived by: his wife Emma S. Hodgin; his sons, Charles L. Hodgin, Jr. of Greensboro, NC and Daniel C. Hodgin of Fort Mill; and his stepchildren, Lisa M. Renfro of Monroe, NC and Christopher Ledford of Indian Land, SC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
