He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thomas and Sarah Webb Deese; his wife Virginia Lee Helms Deese; his son Larry Stevenson Deese; and his brothers, Bill Deese, Curtis Deese and Rev. Tommy Deese.

He is survived by: his daughter Charlene Mock (Charles Mock) of Charlotte, NC; and his sister-in-law Betty Rumfelt Deese of Nebo, NC. He is also survived by several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Memorial contributions may be given to Shiloh Baptist Church Building Fund, 2301 N. Rocky River Road, Monroe, NC 28110.
