He is survived by: his sister Margaret Hill of Monroe; his wife June Carol Edwards Mullis; his children, Dick Mullis (Becky) of Cheraw, SC and Melissa Eggers (David) of Lenoir, NC; his grandchildren, Hillary White (Mike) of Hernando, FL, Monica Light (Japheth) of Palm Bay, FL, Adair Johnson (Alan) of Greenville, SC and Ethan Mullis (Kristin) of Hopewell, VA.; his great grandchildren, Melinda White, Craig White, Margo White, Julie Light, Evan Light, Lydia Light, Sarah Grace Light, Lucy Johnson, Max Johnson, Beatrice Johnson, Penny Mullis and Eloise Mullis; and also Wallace Mullis of Morehead City.
Due to COVID-19 no formal services are planned at this time.
