He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Hough Plyler; his children, Meredith Plyler Jiang (David) and David Plyler (Bethany); his grandchildren, Waylon Plyler and Daniel Jiang; his parents, Evan Plyler and Janice Plyler; and his brothers, Edward (Roben) and Minor. He is also survived by three nieces and two nephews.
