He was predeceased by: his wife Lynda K. Hinz; his parents, David W. Hinz and Ruth G. Hinz; and his sister Julie. He is survived by: his children, Mike Hinz of Monroe, NC, Dana James (Michael) of Waxhaw, NC and Betsy Mollinet (Scott) of Jackson Hole, WY; and his grandchildren, Abigail, Alexander, Harper and Rylie.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers that those who wish make contributions in his name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
