He was predeceased by: his parents, Clay Helms and Ruth Helms; and his brother Barry Helms. He is survived by: his wife Pat Brooks Helms; his children, Dennis Newell Helms, Karon Williams (Dana), Anita Baucom (Craig) and Emily Huffstetler (Steve); his grandchildren, Matthew Helms (Lorie), Sharla Poling, Amanda Huneycutt (Jason), Luke Helms (Victoria), Stephanie Tokhi (Javid), Samuel Garrett, Kasey Haigler, Kyle Baucom (Emmy), Abby King (Duffie), Justin Price, Jordan Price and Courtney Price; and his siblings, Colleen Cox and Bob Helms. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.
