He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Lewis and Bessie Eury Lewis; his son George Jefferson Lewis; and his siblings, Wilburn Lewis, Mary Lee Blanchard, Peggy Riggins, Frances Griffin and Maggie Mae Miles.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian Melton Lewis; his children, Lynn Lewis (Penny) and Sabra Hance (Gary); and his grandchildren, Rodney Gordon (Ramona), Eric Hance (Anna), Greg Gordon, Andrew Rushing, Crissy Hance, Josh Rushing (Ashley), Lynsey Lewis and Dillon Lewis. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
