He was predeceased by: his parents, John Worley Rushing and Carrie Odell Rushing Rushing; his siblings, Jesse Rushing, Ruby Kiker, Dorothy Stroupe, Annie Mae Stroupe and Julia Clontz; and his grandson John Adrian Mullis.
He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Lee Tarlton Rushing; his children, Jeannie Rushing Hinson (Kim) and John Christopher Rushing (Brenna); his sisters, Clara Troutman (Lonnie) and Delane Mullis (Donald); his grandchildren, John Rushing, Esther Smith (Terry), Kylend Mullis and Jason Little; and his great grandchildren, Carter, Cameron and Cayleigh Oglesby.
