She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, John Walter and Martha Clyde McGuirt Collins of Waxhaw; her husband Jack The; her children, Jack L. Hernig III (Jock), Mark Collins Hernig of Waxhaw and Martha Hernig Whitaker (Ken) of Waxhaw; her grandchildren, Lindsie Hernig Guerrasio (Vinny) of Auburn, Jakob L. Hernig IV (Deidra) of Chelsea, Leigh Ellen McLaughlin of Waxhaw, Jennie McLaughlin of Waxhaw and Corrine McLaughlin of Waxhaw; her great grandchildren, John David (J. D.) and Joseph Guerrasio of Chelsea; and her sibling's children, Horace B. Clark of Hudson, Jimmy Williams of Monroe and Elsie Clark Mitchell (Pete) of Myrtle Beach.
