She was predeceased by: her mother Joyce; her husband Buford Tarlton; and her siblings, David Purser, Elizabeth Couick, Ruth Courtney, Barbara Pressley and Nell Merritt.
She is survived by: her children, Buck Tarlton (Julie) of Wingate, NC, Karen Deese (Roy) of Denton, NC and Jamie Merritt of Pageland, SC; her siblings, Sue Lowder (Jerry), Elaine Starnes, Darlene Bragg and Doug Purser; her grandchildren, Jennifer Tarlton, Shane Phifer, Jessica Milam, Julie Tarlton, Adam Hartsell, Dylin Tarlton and Beth Deese; and her great grandchildren, Jaxon, Hailey, Braydon, Jordyn, Peyton, Walker, Matthew, Callie, Nathan, Adaline, Olivia and Sabrina.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Lakeland Memorial Park (1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112).
