He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Helms and Virginia Helms. He is survived by: his wife Susan Bradley Helms; his son Jamey Helms (Stacey) of Lancaster; his stepdaughter Kelly King of Concord; his brother Johnny Helms (Nancy) of Wadesboro; his grandchildren, Sophia and Taylor Helms; and his stepgrandchildren, Ashley Eyer (Josh) and Cloe King. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
