She was predeceased by: her parents, Erie Thomas Cowick and Rachel Stafford Cowick; her husband Bruce Hoyle Deese; and her grandson David Andrew Cobler. She is survived by: her daughters, Lisa Amanda Deese Burr (Jerry) and Sandy Carpenter (Steven); and her grandsons, Joshua Emmanuel Cobler and Charles Thomas Blackburn.
