He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Varner and Ethel Shields Varner; his siblings, Raymond Varner and Joan Varner; and his mother-in-law Jerri Hall.
He is survived by: his former wife Katherine Ann Hall; his wife Kathy Varner; his daughter Carrie Shoupe; his grandchildren, David Varner, Jr. (Karen), Katherine "Kassie" Zohn and Ashley "Ronnie" Zohn; his great grandchildren, David Varner, Eli Varner and Liam Varner; his son-in-law Edward Zohn; his sister Shirley Gettel (Vince); his sibling's children, Rodrigo Rodriguez, Tracy Roriguez, Ron and Tim Varner; and also Amy Tolar.
