He was predeceased by: his father Horst Simon Wilhelm Heger; and his grandson Aidan Gaffney. He is survived by: his mother Christa Helene Heger of Germany; his children, Mark Heger of Germany and Heather Gaylor of North Carolina; his granddaughter Zoey Gaffney of North Carolina; and his friends, Beckie Haskins of North Carolina and Michael Haskins of North Carolina.
