With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter Hughes Sr. (Monroe, North Carolina), who passed away on October 16, 2019 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Raymond Hughes and Nellie Gray Smith Hughes; his brothers, Raymond Arnold Hughes, Howard Boyce Hughes and Gene Douglas Hughes; and his wife Peggyruth "Cookie" Hughes.
He is survived by: his children, Walter Thomas "Tommy" Hughes Jr. (Julie) and Amy Hughes Hancock; and his sister Mary Janice Hughes Garner. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
