She was predeceased by: her parents, Genevieve Heineke and William Heineke; and her son Jeffrey Freund. She is survived by: her sister Carolyn Easom (Harry Easom); her husband Richard Alan Freund; her daughters, Laura Freund, Amy Abernathy (Jack Abernathy) and Johanna Newman (Kevin Reeves); her grandchildren, Christopher Phillips (Carson Phillips), Stephanie Phillips, Brian Newman (Ben), Justin Newman and Mary Newman; and her great grandchild Arthur Phillips.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lake Norman Yacht Club (297 Yacht Rd, Mooresville, NC 28117).
