He was predeceased by: his parents, Doctor Willis and Mary Bingham Willis; his wife Willie Kennerly Willis; and his sister Ruth Shoemaker. He is survived by: his daughter Sandra Willis; his goddaughter Pam Strickland; his siblings, Hazel Hagler, Ray Willis (Marie) and Gene Willis (Sissy); and his friend Selena Carver. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cavin-Cook Chapel (494 E Plaza Dr, Mooresville, NC 28115). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Willow Valley Cemetery (216 E McLelland Ave, Mooresville, NC 28115).
