He was predeceased by : his parents, Ira Gilbert Alexander and Annie Bell Sherrill Alexander; his siblings, Davies Alexander, Hazel Shoemaker and Theresa Lyon; and his son Timothy Alexander Pedwell.

He is survived by : his wife Brenda Alexander; his children, Mike Alexander, Randy Alexander (Michelle) and Sandra Alexander (Randy Cooper); his grandchildren, Cristy Farr (Tim), Stacy Mulligan (Dylan), Michael Blake Alexander (Chelsea) and Johnathan Pedwell; his great grandchildren, Maggie Farr, Kohen Farr, Willow Mulligan and Havynn Alexander; and his sister-in-law Alice Alexander.
