Van Rickard Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Van Rickard of Mooresville, North Carolina, who passed away on July 14, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, Van is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. And as his memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Van's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

He was predeceased by: his parents, N. E. "Buck" Rickard and June Venable Rickard; and his sister Jennifer Rickard Martell. He is survived by: his sons, Casey Rickard (Nami) and Jake Rickard; his sister Teresa Ritter (Kelly Ritter) of Durham, NC; his nephews, Jeremy Hayes and Tommy Hayes; his brother-in-law Frank Martell of Winston-Salem, NC.; and his significant other Kathy Mack of Mooresville, NC..

In lieu of flowers, Van would be honored for friends and family to give a donation to the charity of their choice in his memory.
