Betty Motes Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Motes (Morehead City, North Carolina), who passed away on October 7, 2025 at the age of 97. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Betty Motes to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Wiliam Ward and Bessie Taylor Ward (William James Motes Jr); her son Steven Motes; and her daughters-in-law, Pat Motes, Teresa Motes and Sonya Motes.
She is survived by: her husband William James Motes Jr. (Bill); her children, Ginger Motes and Bryan Motes (Pam Welch); and her brother Dalton Ward (Mary Ellen). She is also survived by five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Noe Brook Funeral Home (201 Professional Cir, Morehead City, NC 28557). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Harlowe Methodist Church (4261 NC-101, Newport, NC 28570).
Flowers are welcome but in lieu of flowers a contribution to the Harlowe United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Jim Shady, 126 Shell Landing, Beaufort, NC 28516 would be appreciated.
