He is survived by: his parents, Howard Shertzer and Ellen Shertzer; his wife Jacqueline "Jackie" Shertzer; his children, Clara Louise Shertzer, Eliza Leonore Shertzer and James Burdick; his brother Kevin Maurice Shertzer; his uncle Jeff Shertzer; and his cousins, Ira Shertzer and Kelly Longsdorff.
Kyle dedicated his career to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), serving as a senior scientist in marine biology, where he made significant contributions to the field.
