He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Wilson Hamer and Mary Freeman Hamer; his wife Diane Huntley Hamer; and his sister Ella Wolf Billings. He is survived by: his children, Amanda Rotenstreich (Kenny) of Greensboro, NC, Melissa Horn (Tom) of High Point, NC, Kristan Erwin (John) of Morganton and Wilson Hamer (Dorothy) of Morganton; and his grandchildren, Josh, Alex Rotenstreich, Ramsay, Dillon Horn, Huntley, Holland Erwin, Collins and Eliza Hamer.
