It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bettijoe Harbison (Morganton, North Carolina), who passed away on April 13, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, D. Mills Watts and Hester Prewitt Watts; her husband William Moran Harbison, Jr.; and her siblings, Beaulah Allen, Edna Piercy, Melva Hyder, Rama Mills, Guy, Edison Watts (Bud), Harold Dennis Watts and Bobby Mills Watts.
She is survived by: her daughters, Denise Harbison Boone (R. T.), Kathie Harbison Waldroup (Kevin) of Morganton, Janice Harbison Sumter of Hickory and Doris Harbison Mestel of Wilmington, Ohio; her grandchildren, Jessica McCurry Speicher (Wes) of Simpsonville, SC, Brooke Sumter Rhoney (Brian) of Hickory, NC, Zachary McCurry, Hannah McCurry Fitzgerald (Paul) of Morganton, Kara Sumter Buckingham (Brad) of Indian Trail, NC, Robert, Jonathan and Kenneth Mestel of Wilmington, Ohio; her great grandchildren, Noah, Will Rhoney of Hickory, NC, Cade Speicher of Simpsonville, SC, Adler Buckingham of Indian Trail, NC, Ava Speicher of Simpsonville, SC and Hailey Buckingham of Indian Trail, NC; her stepgrandchildren, Cole, Jake, Sean, Luke Rhoney of Hickory, NC and Lexis Waldroup of Morganton; and her sisters-in-law, Susan Harbison Noggle of Morganton and Dean Harbison Kirkpatrick of Raleigh.
