Betty Cooke Stokes Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 3, 2018, at the age of 91, Betty Cooke Stokes (Morganton, North Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband William Excell Stokes; her son David Bennett Stokes; and her brother Doug Cooke. She is survived by: her children, William Stephen Stokes (Jane) of Hudson, Richard Alan Stokes (Rita) of Valdese, James Dennis Stokes (Cherie) of Lenoir and Carol Stokes Austin (Mark) of Morganton; her grandchildren, Brenda Cothern, Michael Stokes, Jennifer Corpening, Allison Mace, Shelley Mace, Josh Austin and Tiffany Austin; and her sister Anne Greene of Lenoir. She is also survived by eleven great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Valdese at 500 Faet St NW, Valdese, NC 28690.
