She was predeceased by: her parents, Herndon Ledbetter and Della McGinnis Ledbetter; her husband Herman Chester; her children, Doris Avery and Joseph Chester, Sr.; her grandson Joseph Chester, Jr.; and her sisters, Frances Chester, Mable Riddle and Rosalie Fultz.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Chris Wellman of Morganton, Junette Chester and Jonathon Chester of Jacksonville, FL.
