He is survived by: his parent Ruby Elizabeth Benfield; his children, Donnie Wayne Benfield, Jr. (Sandra) of Morganton, Douglas Eugene Benfield (Jenny) of Morganton, Davina Benfield Evans (Ray) of Morganton and Christopher Stephen Benfield (Jessica) of Rhodhiss; his stepson Hoyt Paul Brittain (Teresa) of Vale; his sister Carolyn Benfield Waycaster (Bill) of Kingsport, TN; and his close friends, Cynthia Kirkpatrick, Dewitt Prince, Kevin Rhodes, Marcia Rhodes and Douglas MacDonald. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
