He is survived by: his parent Nettie Jane McKinney Benfield; his wife Margaret Christine Shuping Benfield; his children, Charlie Benfield, Ray Shell, Davie Shuping, Jamie Benfield, Teresa Biddix, Jennifer Shell, Natasha Teaster, Heather Ross and Jackie Hart; and his sister Virginia Bevins. He is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
