She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Belknap and Mary Belknap. She is survived by: her husband Robert A. Nelson; her children, Robert P. Nelson of Hickory, NC and Mary E. Nelson (Frank McGuire) of Charleston, SC; and her brother Michael Belknap (Martha). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Burke County Options or Burke Hospice.
