He was predeceased by: his parents, George Isaac Wallace and Pearl Payne Wallace; and his sisters, Josephine Prater and Margie McClanahan. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Prater Wallace; his children, Wendy Nichols (Jeff) of Hiddenite, Tina Smith (Marvin) and George Wallace, Jr.; his grandchildren, Shane Dingess, Brent Dingess, Jarrod Smith, Aya Wallace, Zephaniah Wallace and Tayla Wallace; and his siblings, Kenny Wallace, Helen Campbell, Shirley Simms, Robert Wallace, James Wallace, Jackie Mounts and Wayne Mounts. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
