He was predeceased by: his parent Glen Alfred Winters; and his brother Michael Winters. He is survived by: his parent Wilma Hoover Winters; his wife Renée Hodge Winters; his son Scott McKenzie Winters of Morganton; his brother David Winters of Marion; his uncle Jack Hollifield; his aunt Nell Hollifield; and his cousin Annie Hollifield. He is also survived by many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
