He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clifton Williams and Sarah Byers Williams; and his siblings, Jim Williams and Barbara Crabtree. He is survived by: his son Jay Williams (April) of Lenoir; his grandchildren, Bailey Smith (Kelly), Hannah Williams and Eli Williams; and his great grandchild Adaline Hart. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
