He is survived by: his children, Marlene Tipton Ward, Ray Tipton (Evelyn) of Marion, Grady Tipton (Tamera) of Drexel and Max Tipton (Lois) of Morganton; his brother Eura Tipton (Juanita) of Sandford, NC; and his grandchildren, Donnie Tipton (Maureen) of Marion, Leslie Austin (Tim) of Morganton, Kelly Corum (Kyle) of Burlington, Josh Tipton (Regina) of Drexel, Ashley Hampton (Nathan) of Morganton and Alethia Avery (Diante) of Morganton. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
