He was predeceased by: his parents, George Rufus Hollifield and Annie Vesta Baucomb Hollifield; and his brothers, Ervin Hollifield and Rev. Milton A. Hollifield, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Nell Hollifield; and his daughter Annie Geneva Hollifield. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Burke County Friends for Animals, P.O. Box 1884, Morganton, NC 28680.
