He is survived by: his parent Minnie Mae Walker Hawkins; his wife Sandra Holder Hawkins; his son Aaron James Hawkins (Heidi) of Raleigh; his grandchildren, Abby Hawkins and Connor Hawkins; and his brother Stephen "Steve" Hawkins of Morganton. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
