He was predeceased by: his parents, Dean Lankford and Auda Lee Lankford; and his sister Mary. He is survived by: his wife Becky Carswell Lankford; his daughters, Claire Lankford of Raleigh and Kate Lankford of Houston, TX.; and his siblings, Ann Garrou of Rocky Mount, Dean Lankford (Julie) of Rutherford College and Scott Lankford (Susan) of Greensboro. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Linville United Methodist Church Building Fund, and will be used in renovations to improve handicap accessibility.
