He was predeceased by: his father Joseph "Donel" Rogers. He is survived by: his stepparents, Herman Scott and Lucy Rogers; his daughter Justine Sloan; his wife Barbara Miller Rogers; his mother Vonnie Gallion Scott; his siblings, Judy Haines (Larry) and Jeff Rogers (Stephanie); his children, Joseph Rogers Jr. (Theresa), Tony Sloan and Alisa Edwards; his grandchildren, Tamara Coffey (Shane), Chelsea McCoy, Bryan Edwards, Dylan Edwards and Luke Sloan; and his great grandchildren, Kendal Coffey, Aspen Coffey, Jaycee McCoy and Katelyn Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Burke County, who have provided Joe and the family excellent care.
