It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lula Mae Chapman Helms of Morganton, North Carolina, who passed away on February 6, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lee Chapman and Lola Watts Chapman; her husband Carl Helms; her children, Carl Phillip Helms and Linda Helms; and her grandson Chad Gales.
She is survived by: her daughters, Sylvia Chester and Wanda Burns (Cade); her sisters, Ivey Mace and Grace Wilson; and her grandson Josh Helms (Anita). She is also survived by other numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
