She was predeceased by: her parents, Alphonso Avery and Stella Whisnant Avery; her husband Bill Garland Tilley; and her siblings, Gary, Larry, Curtis Avery and Donnie Avery.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Andrew Tilley and Lisa Tilley Burgess; her grandson Bradley Burgess (Kelsie); and her siblings, Lloyd, Elmer Avery, Maxine Jenkins and Geneva Ross. She is also survived by two nieces; eight nephews; and a number of extended family.
