He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Chapman and Emma Watts Chapman; his former wife Grace Smith Chapman; his grandchildren, Wendy Mathis Franklin and Joey Allen Morrow; his great grandchild Azriel Kole Mathis; and his siblings, Ollis Chapman, Ivey Chapman Gilbert and Annre Peeler.
He is survived by: his wife Lottie Clark Chapman; his children, Wanda Chapman Mathis (Bobby Joe), William Joseph Morrow (Judy), Lisa Fike, Curtis Fike (Susan) and Suzanne Crawford; his grandchildren, Dwight Aaron Mathis (Melissa), Renee McGalliard (Corey), John Epley, Courtney Carswell (Jamie), Zachary Fike (Emily), Nicole Conen (Ari), Haleigh Ware, Emily Crawford (Alek Epley) and Jake Crawford; his great grandchildren, Justin Tyler Parlier (Ashley), Dana Parlier, Amanda Mathis, Jessie Mathis and Wesson McGalliard; and his brother Lee Chapman. He is also survived by 8 step-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren.
