He was predeceased by: his parent John Stevenson Chapman; his wife Helen Brown Chapman; his siblings, Roy, Hersel, Moran, John Tellis Chapman and Annie Mae Burns; and his son-in-law Larry Taylor.
He is survived by: his parent Dalzie Kincaid Chapman; his children, Kaye Taylor of Morganton, Joanne Beck (Jerry) of Asheville and Andrew Chapman of Jonas Ridge; and his sister-in-law Beatrice Chapman. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
