It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Leland Bennett (Morganton, North Carolina), who passed away on November 6, 2019, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Johnson Bennett and Melba Elizabeth Wilson Bennett. He is survived by: his wife Shari A. Bennett; his children, Glen W. Chase (Angie), Matthew I. Bennett and Heather Bennett; his grandchildren, Zalie Chase, Corbin Chase, Gauge Michael Bennett, Victoria McCall, Myranda Bennett, Madison Bennett and Bradley Bennett; his siblings, John Bennett (Joan) and Carolyn Norman (Ronnie); and his nieces, Lindsey, Emily and Carrie. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Burke Hospice and Palliative Care, 1721 Enon Road, Valdese, NC 28690 in honor of Michael's parents.
