She was predeceased by: her parents, David Carl Stroup and Mary Ellen Propst Stroup; her sister Jeannine Stroup Carriker; and her brothers-in-law, Ted Kirby and Melvin Carriker.
She is survived by: her siblings, Ernest Stroup (Susan) of Morganton, Jo Stroup Curtis (David) of Morganton and Mary Stroup Kirby of Morganton; and her nieces and nephews, Vince Kirby of Granite Falls, Michael Kirby of Morganton, Steven Crockford of Morganton, David Stroup of Greensboro, Levi Meeks of Morganton, Dawn Stroup Gray (Jeff) of Frisco, Shelly Spoon Varsamis (Bill) of Morganton, Susan Carriker Smith (Chris) of Morganton and Jessica Townsend of Morganton. She is also survived by numerous great-nieces and a great-nephew.
